  3. My husband has taken me under his wing and started showing me the proper forms for lifting weights. He also has set me and his coworker up on a weekly exercise schedule. He's in the Army Reserves so we use the gym at his work and I go in during his normal workout time since he's on his own for PT. He also gives me positive encouragement. As for what I do on my own I watch sugars and bad carbs, I rarely drink soda, and lots of water, vegetables, whole grains, and good proteins. I feel wonderful! I've been working out steadily since October and have lost 8 lbs!

  4. My plan is pretty simple. Eat mostly real, whole foods, count calories and maintain a deficit at least 5 days a week. Get in at least three sessions of exercise weekly. Try to stay active, i.e. less time on the computer. So far, so good, had losses 13 weeks in a row! Now doing a couple weeks of maintenance, then will go at the weight loss again for 12 weeks.

  5. Since reading about you. It has challenged me to get healthy and to try to lose the weight that I need to. I use to be very thin and then I got sick and had to go on steriods and gained alot of weight (went from 115 to 285) I then worked very hard for a year and lost down to 189. Then went through the death of my grandparents, nephew and mother all in less than 6 months and gained up to 232 then started working out again lost down to 190 and then got the diagnosis of Thyroid cancer and had surgery and radiation and gained up to 260. Since starting 2 1/2 weeks ago I am going to the gym 3 times a week and have lost down to 250 I know it isn't much but it is a start and I am looking forward to continuing my journey to weight loss and getting healthy. thanks for inspiring me

  8. You all inspire me! Cynthia, I am reading the China Study right now. check it out. He has some theories about cancer and diet. I am going to be gradually changing my diet to reflect something like what he proposes might be a cancer stopper.
