Wowie! It was the first day of our challenge and I did great! I had a calorie defict of 1,122 and took 12,124 steps.
I met the challenge of a Girl Scout night and M's pizza dinner by taking S. to Arby's on our way to Scouts. She had chicken fingers and I had a chopped salad. The chopped salad there is a good choice at under 350 calories, use the the vinegarette (one packet) and add only 120 calories. While she was at Scouts, I walked and got in more steps. Major change! My usual pattern would have been any one (or more) of the following ... hanging out at Panera's drinking latte and eating a sweet while she was at Scouts, having pizza with M. and the boys when we got home from Scouts, having a jamocha shake and cheese sticks at Arby's.
Feeling pretty good about myself lately. I have droppped 6.4 pounds in 8 days. I am excited to reach my first 10 pound marker. When I do, I am going to buy myself something new. Perhaps something for walking is in order -- new athlelic socks, a new athletic bra, maybe a pair of those tight-fitting thick spandex running pants I see the real runners wear ...
I have to credit the BodyMedia armband in conjunction with the teamwork associated with this blog. Really. Checking the armband keeps me focused. Logging food on the site keeps me focused. Writing my daily entries keeps me focused.
I continue to struggle with my sleep, however. The band shows me laying down for about 8 hours every night, but I am only sleeping 5 or 6 hours. Any suggestions?????
Drugs? I am not sure what to tell you about the sleep thing. They think it effects weight loss though. I have actually had days where I had very little activity but got great sleep and burned more calories than on a day where I moderately exercised and got terrible sleep. So it is worth looking into. I would talk to your doctor for sure. I would love to know what they suggest!
ReplyDeleteWTG on the great choices and the fantastic step numbers for the day. You ROCK! You inspire me!
